Save Our School Children
(S.O.S.)
Anti-Violence Program
Founded in 2009, by Dr. Michelle Hoy-Watkins with contributions by Dr. Darlene Perry, the S.O.S. Program is a comprehensive, evidence-based violence intervention and recidivism reduction initiative designed to support youth at risk.
The program uses developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant interventions to allow youth the ability to focus on their studies and build a stronger foundation for their future.
The S.O.S. program has served more than 10 CPS elementary and high schools. In 2015, the S.O.S. program was awarded a three-year grant from Get In Chicago.
